Third Graders are working hard in science! Our tadpoles eggs arrived in early January with the start of our life cycles unit. Students are observing daily as these amazing creatures go through the process of metamorphosis and drawing what they see. At this point we have small tadpoles. Coinciding with this, students are planting seeds. They have sprouted and students are also documenting what they see each day. The kids are truly enjoying watching all this happen right before their eyes.

In literacy we started our Pourquoi unit. These “WHY” stories were handed down to explain how and why certain things in nature came to be.  For example, why an elephant has a trunk.  Students are not as familiar with folktales so this is relatively new to them. As we explore this genre they are learning about character flaws and how these are found in most pourquoi stories.

In math it is all about multiplication. The classes are

really learning their facts so well and we hope that parents will continue to help their child at home.
