The Hillsborough Township Office of Emergency Management is that unit of local government created under New Jersey law to provide for the health, safety and welfare of our citizens during times of emergency and disaster. Hurricanes, floods, building collapse, chemical spills, explosions, severe weather, and plane crashes can strike at any time. Emergency Management carries out its responsibilities through mitigation efforts, developing an emergency plan for the Township, responding to and coordinating emergency operations, and recovering from disaster to place things back to normal.
The Emergency Management team is comprised of both professionals and volunteers from throughout the community. The team consists of municipal employees, local business professionals and many volunteers such as fire and emergency medical people.
